Needle, Not Gun

All body and cartilage piercings are done with a single-use sterile piercing needle. A needle creates a clean channel and heals better than a piercing gun, which can crush tissue. Learn more in our needle vs. gun article (Turkish).

Popular Piercings

  • Ear lobe: quick and easy, heals in about 6–8 weeks.
  • Helix, tragus, conch, rook, daith: cartilage piercings, usually 6–12 months to fully heal.
  • Industrial: a bar connecting two points of the upper ear.
  • Nostril (nose): around 4–6 months to heal.
  • Septum: often heals faster than people expect, around 2–3 months.
  • Navel (belly button): 6–12 months.

Aftercare While Traveling

Clean twice a day with sterile saline solution and dry gently. Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or creams, and do not twist the jewelry. Avoid pools, the sea and saunas during the first weeks. Sleep on the other side if possible.
